Getting the correct Java files

Postby RobertD » Sat May 05, 2012 11:23 pm

G'Day
Just trying to get started with the Weather Toys book.
Trying to download the right files for the correct version of Java (J2SE SDK)
I cant find it in the Java.sun.com pages...how critical is it to get the exact version..??
Can anyone help with what the newer files that will work are called..???

Just to add on to the problems I cant find the J2SE Documentation mentioned on Page 85 either.....

This is my first effort at anything along these lines..so yep Im about as green as they come..!!
Cheers
Rob

The latest version of the Java JDK should be fine. I am using version 1.7 at the moment.
It depends on the architecture of your pc and also the operating system (I am using windows 64 bit).
You need the Java SE Development Kit 7 Downloads which should be on this page:-

http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/ ... index.html

The link for the API dics are about half way down the page.
